Today is about team work and peer learning. We get things done in a messy but fun way. We learned as we move along with our assignment. Not easy to deal with numbers and translate them. It is very very labour intensive.
We have the opportunity to pop into SMART classroom and I am impressed! Thanks to Dr Quek!

KISS -
Keep
It
Simple &
Sweet!! Thats what I will KISS for this!
We have a guest lecturer today to share his IT expertise with us. I feel like I am on a Discovery Channel...so many websites to discover and explore!
We had three interesting case studies on School A, B and C. For School C where students lack motivation, I would suggest ways to improve and boost their learning.
Example : Motivational Quotes on daily basis : believe in yourself, believe in others!
Share success story : for them to emulate, imitate and learn from others!
Conduct motivational workshop

Learnt another acronym :
WIHIC!!If we can apply and modify WIHIC to WIHAH!! (What Is Happening At Home) , it would be very interesting and wonderful!
Home has always been the main focal point and important place for child development. Everything should start from home!!
Having said that, it is meaningful to mention IDP - Individual Development Plan to help develop individual skills and achieve career goals. IDP leverages the strengths and motivation, support and trust.
In essence, allows us to take responsibility for our own learning. Soon we will be adopting this plan for both Officers and Specialists. It is very tedious (on the whole) but for a good cause!

I have learnt...
1) new terminology used in LE context :
- Alpha Press
- Beta Press
2) sweet little thing calls 'lessonbox'
3) that I am authoritative
4) what LE actually encompasses.... I was thinking that it would be kind of designing a conducive classroom . The Big Picture tells a thousand words on the Learning Environment.
Much money had been spent on building infrastructure. For example, in Air Force School, many classrooms had been upgraded to an enhanced learning space. But what about the perm staff and learners? They are also part of the constituting element to a good learning environment. I would strongly suggest character building activities organized in SAF training institutes!

I have learnt the key components of a learning environment today .
I also discovered my management profile, ie, authoritative/ commanding style . There are strenghts and challenges in teaching as well as learning . I will do my own search on this tonight and looking forward to the next day lesson .
Im also glad to know how to blog from my daughter who taught me how to design the blogskin .It's fun learning from her(duh, so obvious) and it made me realised that BEING AN ADULT DOES NOT MEAN YOU KNOW EVERYTHING !
Sometimes you even have to learn from your kids! ( HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! )
Example : kids are able to get back to their form faster than adults after quarrel. Adults bear grudges, kids will shake hands and be friends again. This is another lesson we have to learn from kids-be more forgiving .
SO , DON'T TAKE LIFE SO SERIOUSLY ! :D
Ciaos !
